Bioenterprises: A bakery workshop was conducted using sweet potato and cassava

During the week of June 13th to 17th, 2022, the Amazon team of the Raíz Ecuador Foundation was in Shushufindi, Sucumbíos. We worked with the Siekopai women’s association from the Secoya Remolino community, which is seeking legal formalization to achieve formal marketing processes for their products.

In this context, a bakery workshop was conducted using native flours such as sweet potato and cassava to strengthen the association and diversify its products. The Raíz Ecuador Foundation is committed to supporting women bioentrepreneurs from Siekopai and Siona communities within the project «Promoting Bioenterprises in the Amazon,» promoted by the Raíz Ecuador Foundation – CAEMBA along with other stakeholders.

We express our gratitude to the Small Grants Program of Ecuador from UNDP Ecuador, in coordination with the Program for Supporting the National System of Protected Areas (PASNAP) of the Ministry of Environment, Water, and Ecological Transition of Ecuador, to KFW, and to the German Cooperation Agency GIZ Ecuador.
