We carried out the final tasks for the Amazonian collection center

During the second week of January 2022, the final tasks were completed prior to the launch of the collection and processing center for the «Amazon Bioenterprise» project.

In the community of Wai’ya, Sucumbíos province, this collection center will operate, a space that will be used by the Siekopai Women’s Association ASOPROASIENW. A water system and several kitchen equipment were installed, with the guidance of Christian Silva, representative of the Association of Amazonian Chefs of Ecuador and ABC Gourmet.

The inauguration of the collection center for Amazon bioenterprises, such as neapia (black chili) and cassava, among others, will take place at the end of January 2022. This collection and processing center will be used to process the products collected from the bioenterprises of several neighboring communities and will be managed by the Siekopai Women’s Association (ASOPROASIENW).

We thank our allies: Ceibo; the Small Grants Program of the United Nations Development Program; the Ministry of Environment, Water, and Ecological Transition of Ecuador; KFW; the Lianas Center Foundation; the Provincial Government of Sucumbíos; and Canopy Bridge.
