Atacames Municipality and CAEMBA visit the site of the future daycare

On February 23, 2021, the Director of the Social Action Unit of the Municipality of Atacames, Elicenia Vélez de Saldarriaga, visited the site donated by the Council to CAEMBA for the construction of a Child Development Center (CIBV). Maritza Orellana, CAEMBA’s field technician, also attended the visit.

We will be responsible for the construction of this CIBV, which will take place between March 8 and 10, 2021. Funding comes from the company Merck. The plot is located at the entrance of the «Las Cañitas» sector, in front of the Nueva Esperanza neighborhood in Atacames. The administration and maintenance of this childcare center, which will serve many children from the neighborhood, will be the responsibility of the Municipality of Atacames.

It is important to highlight and thank the tripartite collaboration between Merck, CAEMBA, and the Municipality of Atacames to execute this project. This is part of the comprehensive intervention project in the Nueva Esperanza neighborhood, «One neighborhood at a time,» which we are implementing in this sector of Atacames.
