Several donations were delivered to the Covid-19 Center in Atacames

April has been the month of donations so that the Covid-19 Respiratory Care Center in Atacames can continue its tireless work in favor of patients with the new coronavirus. That is why in this note we recount and thank the multiple donations received.

Ernesto Pozo and Nancy Erazo donated a Smart TV.

In March 2021, Nancy Erazo and Ernesto Pozo, a couple of Ecuadorians residing in the United States, visited the province of Esmeraldas as part of their vacation. However, they contracted Covid-19 while they were in Atacames.

Both were attended to by doctors and nurses from the Covid Respiratory Care Center, located on the Tonsupa – Atacames road. Ernesto Pozo and Nancy Erazo are from Quito. The couple has been residing in the United States for 45 years. They went on vacation to the province of Esmeraldas several weeks ago and unfortunately contracted Covid-19.

After recovering and receiving medical clearance, this generous and grateful couple donated a Smart TV so that patients at the Center can distract themselves and occupy their minds with other things, thus recovering in a better way.

Caemba greatly appreciates this donation. We wish them a complete recovery and that they always remember and promote our work abroad.

Wi-Fi and DirecTV

In addition to this important donation, an anonymous contribution arrived with equipment to provide Wi-Fi (router), and also a donation from DirecTV to install channels at the center. It is thanks to these generous contributions that Caemba can continue working, multiplying the well-being of the most vulnerable populations.

Lions Club

On Friday, April 30, 2021, the Lions Club donated 6 drawers, several red bags for infectious waste, and also chlorine. The drawers will be used to store various supplies at the center. The bags and chlorine will be used to keep this site clean and constantly disinfected.

Medical supplies delivery – Today for Everyone

#TodayForEveryone is an initiative that brings together 42 shopping centers in the country to give us all the opportunity to help the health personnel of the public health system in Ecuador. This personnel is constantly fighting against Covid-19 and needs basic supplies such as nitrile gloves, surgical gowns, and KN95 masks.

The donations of these supplies, which were collected at Quicentro Shopping and the Quito Airport Center, were delivered to Caemba. We delivered these supplies on April 29th to the Covid-19 Respiratory Care Center in Atacames, managed by Caemba. Likewise, the medical personnel who attend to patients there requiring intermediate care will share a portion of the donation with the Guasti Hospital in Atacames.

The medical staff were very grateful for this donation as it will help them better care for the patients, as well as protect themselves and prevent contagion.

Initiatives like this restore our confidence and hope in a united country to help those who need it most in this time of pandemic. This is a great coordinated effort, acting responsibly for the good of everyone. We thank Cristina Moshenek for leading this important initiative.

Donation boxes

Soon, we will distribute donation boxes so that the people of Atacames can contribute their donations and support the important work being done by the doctors and nurses at the Covid-19 Center in Atacames.
