Caemba expresses its deepest condolences on the passing of Carlos Peñaherrera

Caemba mourns the loss of Carlos Peñaherrera, a friend of Fundación Raíz Ecuador – Caemba. We extend our deepest condolences to his daughters Rosanna and Megan, his extended family, his friends, and the entire community of Universidad San Francisco de Quito (USFQ), which embraced him for many years.

Carlos was the previous owner of the current Caemba farm, located on the La Concordia – Santo Domingo road. He sold it to Fundación Raíz Ecuador – Caemba in 2019 with two objectives. The first was to move to Salinas and fulfill his dream of sailing on his sailboat. The second was for his farm to produce bamboo for a social purpose, which is what we do at Caemba. The photo on the motorcycle is of Carlos at the current Caemba farm.

Thanks to the sale of his farm, we were able to build many dreams, which were also his dreams.
