Fair in Atacames for World Refugee Day

On the occasion of World Refugee Day, the Prefecture of Esmeraldas and the provincial human mobility table organized the «Citizen Fair of Inclusion: United for Equality.» Raíz Ecuador Foundation – Caemba participated with several women from the Textile Production Association «Casa de la Mujer» (ASOPROTEXCAMU). Some of them are refugee women.

The fair took place on Wednesday, June 30, 2021, at the central park of Atacames. The women of the association sold products such as dresses, shorts, blouses, and handbags, among others.

The women were trained in professional trades endorsed by the National Government. The courses took place at the Women’s Entrepreneurship House in Nueva Esperanza, Atacames. Subsequently, Caemba helped them create the Association to facilitate the marketing of their products and reach more people.

We are pleased that the Prefecture of Esmeraldas has invited ASOPROTEXCAMU and the Raíz Ecuador Foundation – Caemba to participate in this fair, which will benefit both refugee women and Ecuadorians. We look forward to continuing to strengthen our ties with the Prefecture of Esmeraldas to keep working in favor of the most vulnerable and needy people.
